Midway Swiss Days August 29th-30th

So Midway Swiss Days always seems to sneak up on me. It is definatly my second favorite time of year! First being Christmas of course!! There are so many things to look forward to! The Midway Relief Society makes the most AMAZING goodies!! To die for!! They make this very thin pressed cinnomon cookie that melts in your mouth. They have precut caramel apples that my friends and I talk about at least 3 times a month. Breads, almonds, pie... it is all so good.

The first time I visited Swiss Days we had been in the area house shopping. We drove into Midway (a very tiny town) at about 4:15 on Saturday. The place was crawling with people. We decided to park and see what all the ruckus was about. Not realizing what I was about to stumble upon we unloaded the kids and walked into the park. I took one look around and told MDH to sit tight with the kids. I was in Craft Paradice!!! The most amazing items!! All hand crafted.

So here are a few things you need to know so you aren't caught off gaurd like I was.

1. Swiss Days startes Friday Morning bright and early 8:00 sharp. Beware of the wild women!

2. Most years 100000+ attend so be patient finding parking spots. Parking in a lot and riding a bus in is usually quicker then finding a spot close by.

3. All vendors bring handcrafted unique items.

4. All the food is so yummy! There is a chuck wagon breakfast on Saturday morning, a BBQ Saturday Afternoon, and Swiss Tacos, Sandwiches, scones and tons more that is all so good! Come hungry!

5. Strollers are very hard to maneuver. If I am bringing the kids I usually bring my husband and send them all to the kids area.

6. Bring lots of cash! There are so many talented vendors that attend Swiss Days. It is very difficult to be accepted as a vendor, thus forcing creativity to the max!
